Kevin Sinnott
For most of my career I have invented the content of my pictures, sometimes relying for content on my knowledge of past and present art.
Born 1947 in Sarn, South Wales, Kevin Sinnott is a contemporary Welsh artist with a truly international reputation. His work tends to depict everyday moments in Welsh life and is held in collections worldwide. He is represented in many important public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum, and the National Museum of Wales to name a few. After a successful career based in London, Kevin now draws much of his inspiration from the people and places around his home in Wales, inspired by the community and characters which colour the South Wales valleys. While Kevin's work is primarily concerned with human relationships caught in fleeting moments of time, the influence of the South Wales landscape is often felt in his paintings with his use of vibrant colours and confident brushstrokes.
