Are you on Universal Credit and aged between 18- 24years?

Would you like to work at a busy independent contemporary art gallery in the old market town of Cardigan in South Ceredigion?
Our gallery offers an opportunity for a candidate to learn a range of skills required to run a gallery whilst becoming a valued member of the team.

The gallery is open 7 days a week during the busy summer months and Monday to Saturday, October – March.

This is a great opportunity to learn Contemporary Welsh art, sales and media.

Role within the gallery
To support the manager with the day to day admin
Gallery floor to include, sales, display of pieces, labelling, responding to queries
Rehanging art work and new exhibitions
Liaising with customers and artists
Updating and translation of website and social media
Following and implementing Covid 19 safety procedures
Handling money and transactions
Opening and closing of gallery
Cleaning the gallery floor

Personal Qualities
Professional manner
Good time keeping
Flexible working, 25 hours per week including Saturdays and covering holiday/sickness when needed
Confident in their spoken and written Welsh is desirable

We will train you in the use of office software and WordPress website skills
Mentor you in creating blogs and social media updates and photographing art work
Support your professional development and communication skills
Help you to update your C.V
Encourage you to attend training when appropriate
Gain confidence when dealing with people
Further develop your skills and experience ready for the next stages of your career

The roles you are applying for:
‱ a minimum of 25 hours per week, for 6 months including Saturdays
‱ paid the National Minimum Wage for your age group
‱ no extensive training is needed before you begin the job placement
