Natalie Chapman

Natalie Chapman is a figurative painter based in the small market town of Aberaeron.

After studying Art and Design in Coleg Ceredigion she has gone on to gain a first-class hons degree in fine art at Coleg Sir Gar Carmarthen. She has exhibited in many places including the botanical gardens, Elysium Gallery and the Norwegian church Cardiff. Natalie’s paintings depict the social relationships through bold use of colour and space. The portrayal of interpersonal dynamics is engaging yet tense. The push pull between tenderness and tension trying to capture identity and social documentary with the focus on snap-shot compositions of everyday life. Creating a sense of ambiguous tension, emptiness, boredom and anxiety.
