Peter Bodenham

Informing and framing the ceramic bucket vessels are a range of sources, a personal sense of place or locational identity and the connection between the maker and the land. Journeys and mini adventures on foot, traversing the shoreline and seascape feed the work on a direct level. Motifs and gestural marks applied to the surfaces can be seen as direct embodied traces of his phenomenological experience of site and place. Cultural references range from mid century British abstract painting to utilitarian domestic objects.
