Seren Stacey

Seren Stacey studied Textile Art at Winchester School of Art, going on to undertake artist residencies and curate site-specific exhibitions. She has worked as an education officer at Oriel Myrddin Gallery and continues to be passionate about her work in arts education.

Seren Stacey’s colour cards cheekily re-imagine the folded charts of some well-known English paint companies. The range of colours, collected from the worn surfaces of a familiar stomping ground, act as an alternative map of place, with insight and humour emerging between the images and words.

Lliwiau Aberteifi is a collection of contemporary and heritage colours sourced from around Cardigan Town and the nearby village of Cilgerran, with titles inspired by local place names, historical references and native wildlife. LL&P Colour Card represents a winter of walks further up Afon Teifi in the Town of Llandysul and Pontyweli. These unique palettes capture a fleeting moment in time; the peeling surface of an old garage soon to be replaced, the gas bottle in the perfect mustard hue awaiting collection, or the whitewashed windows of a pending refurbishment.
